Introduction
Louis has an South African layout in his garage which has a double circuit, consisting of double and single main lines, including Louis's famous
zig-zag branch line based on the Barkley East reverses. Station names are named after the Friday Night Group, namely Ronnievale, Brianston, Attwellby and
Dassiepoort.
Electric units run between the first two stations, then to diesels, then back to electric locos. Steam reigns supreme on the
branch line, double heading to the 1st reverse. Special features are loading gravel at the mine, a tippler (that actually works!) at the cement works at Brianston
and a flash-over arc on the pantographs at a certain point.
